Νοτε Ον Consecutive Abundant Numbers

چکیده
A positive integer N is called an abundant number if σ(N) > 2N, where σ (N) denotes the suns of the divisors of N including 1 and N. Abundant numbers have been recently investigated by Behrend, Chowla, Davenport , myself, and others ; it has been proved, for example, that they have a density greater than 0 . I prove now the following THEOREM. We can find two constants c l , c 2 such that , for all sufficiently large n, there exist cl log log log n consecutive integers all abundant and less than n , but not c 2 log log log n consecutive integers all abundant and less than n .

The dynamics of questing ticks collected for 164 consecutive months off the vegetation of two landscape zones in the Kruger National Park (1988-2002). Part II. Rhipicephalus appendiculatus and Rhipicephalus zambeziensis.
The study aimed to assess the long-term population dynamics of questing Rhipicephalus appendiculatus and Rhipicephalus zambeziensis in two landscape zones of the Kruger National Park (KNP). Ticks were collected by dragging the vegetation monthly in three habitats (grassland, woodland and gully) at two sites in the KNP (Nhlowa Road and Skukuza) from August 1988 to March 2002. Larvae were the mos...
متن کاملA new series for the density of abundant numbers
A natural number n is called abundant if the sum of proper divisors of n exceeds n. In 1933 Behrend determined bounds for the natural density dA of abundant numbers, with subsequent improvments leading to the 1998 bounds of Deléglise, 0.2474 < dA < 0.2480. We present a new infinite series expression for the density of abundant numbers which can be used to calculate an improved lower bound.

In this note, we find an asymptotic formula for the counting function of the set of totient abundant numbers.
متن کاملThe helminths of ranch calves in the North-eastern Mountain Grassland of South Africa.
The cumulative total helminth parasite burdens of ranch calves during their first seven months of life on the North-eastern Mountain Grassland of South Africa were determined during two consecutive years. Trichostrongylus axei was the most abundant nematode parasite followed by Cooperia spp. and Ostertagia ostertagi. Haemonchus spp. occurred in relatively low numbers and its development was sig...
متن کاملNatural Enemies Associated with Avocado Thrips in Ventura County Avocado Groves: Results of a pilot study and year one of a three-year survey
Fourteen avocado groves were surveyed by leaf samples, beat samples and sticky cards to assess avocado thrips (AT) and natural enemies (NE) populations in avocado trees in 2003. In the groves, the presence of NE and AT between January and September was only slightly affected by a single abamectin treatment, with Chrysopa sp. being the only NE significantly impacted. In untreated groves, conside...
